The Dawn Redwood seedlings that I have ordered from Welker's have all been excellent and are thriving in our climate in far Northwest Montana. The trees wintered over very well and this year have grown rapidly and continue to grow rapidly as of this writing in late July. In fact the seedlings that I received last year that were about 10 inches tall are currently near 24 to 30 inches tall and still growing rapidly as of this writing. The soft needles and nice shape of the trees along with the beautiful fall foliage definitely add value to any landscape. I am very pleased with these trees and would recommend them to anyone looking to add a unique tree to their environment. This tree does very well in Northern climates and as I stated earlier is thriving in our climate in far Northwest Montana which officially is a USDA zone 5 but Sunset Magazine lists us as a zone 2A.
